No matter how many times I play Resident Evil 2 Remake, Mr X gives me the same amount of anxiety and terror every single time.

Have it's own flaws but better than the orignial, fantastic remake

I love the tone of the game. When The Tyrant shows up you feel real terror shoot through you, and the music shift gets my adrenaline pumping. The puzzles were fun and simple enough but at times felt cheesy (like the chess pieces). There are some real gameplay gripes I have tho. Not being able to kill the monsters easily is fine but there's also hardly ever a way to get past them or run from the fast ones. It would be much appreciated if there were wider rooms here and there to help get around hoards. The complete lack of hustle from the characters feels annoying too. It's frustrating when I'm being chased by the jumping ones and I can't do anything but a light jog. It just doesn't make sense, especially since killing is never a guarantee. The larger creatures are annoying as well since you can only hurt them with bullets when their eyes are open but their eyes stay closed for soooooo long. The first fight against William was horrible because there is no indication if you're fighting him properly or not so it just feels like a janky mess. The story was also very lacking. Claire wants to find her brother and Leon wants to stop the outbreak but neither of those things happen and everything you've done in the game has no meaning (except killing William and The Tyrant I guess). Also playing as the other character on the second playthrough was just different enough for me to feel like I should do it but not different enough for me to have a lot of fun doing the same exact puzzles twice.

I'm not that into RE Lore, and the overwhelming number of games in the series makes it hard to properly judge the story of this one, but it was a fun ride. Only played Leon A, don't plan on doing the Claire B. Maybe with all these remakes i will play the whole series and get more invested.
