WWE 2K25

I grew up with WWE as im sure most who played this game are or were fans of the franchise. Although i stopped watching WWE many years ago i do try to keep up to date with events and the games. So first and foremost most 2K games feel outdated from launch at how little is added to every new game each year they come out. Even in this one you still get to feel that sensation. However it still feels improved at the same time. You also notice it from the gaming mechanics as they feel smoother. Although the improvments are small you can notice them such as being able to throw the opponent into the barricades around the ringside or diving off them.

The match types can be super fun. Underground matches come with ropeless rings making it feel sort of fresh, which comes with interaction changes so it feels as realistic enough as it can feel watching it on TV. In bloodline rules matches there is a hidden ability where you can call for help to an ally who can assist you during your match. It can make a one on one match become unpredictable as it can be chaotic once more people enter that ring, the downside is it's random you cant choose who you want to assist you. :/ (This was during launch but apparently it might or might not been a bug and I was just stupid. We shall never know)

There are also improvements such as MyGM comes with online multiplayer, My rise has the best storyline theyve delivered in years. There are life quality improvements that players have asked before in the past. Showcase is a mix of good and bad. The AI can be difficult to adjust to and control, it will give you a rough time to make it to co operate with you. There are also time related objectives which are a pain in the ass i hate things such as quick time events. And youre forced to restart becaude the AI doesnt wanna co operate with you to get those objectives. This is the downside of the showcase for this game.

The island although a new game mode...it's alright. There is nothing ground breaking about it to gasp over. You can design your own character which is whatever im not the type of person who doesnt like those kinda things. Story elements are fun but theyre bundled with cheesy lines and jokes which is to be expected at this point. The design of the island is the strongest part about it. It has excellent details, although it is small there is tons for you to explore. Refrences to legends and even easter eggs like an Aztech pyramid as an homage to Lucha Libre.

Although it isnt much of a "new" game it will get serviced for a year which will be enough to attract a player base since yall refuse to let this franchise die at this point.

The fights feels better than ever. The gameplay’s smoother, the AI puts up a real fight, and every hit leaves a mark, literally. Body bruises add a layer of brutality, and intergender matches open up new possibilities. I experienced no bugs so far, just pure, polished action.

But MyRise? A predictable crawl through a story with no soul. Showcase? A chore turned nightmare, bogged down by timed objectives that suck the life out of every match. You’re not reliving history, you’re grinding through a checklist.

I haven’t explored everything yet, but gameplay-wise, I’m having a damn good time. Just staying far away from MyRise and Showcase.

The gameplay’s better, no doubt. But not better enough to make this a must-have. If the improved gameplay is all you need, get it. If not, keep playing 2K24, you’re not missing a damn thing.
