Summary

A nuclear disaster has left an area of Britain in tatters. Atomfall, a new survival-action game, will see you explore, scavenge, craft, barter and fight your way through beautifully recreated scenery in search of answers.

I've completed the game and ready to express my own opinion on this game. Let's start with what I liked about it.

The game is beautiful. Throughout my gameplay I was taking screenshot all the time. Map is full of interesting details. Voice acting is good. Setting is really appealing to me. It's kinda a lighter version fallout but in an English rural environment. I liked it. Game gives you a lot of choices, during my playthrough I wasn't sure who to trust and what choices to make. There a lot of good stuff in the game, the exploration, the adventure everything is there. However there were some problems with game on my opinion as well.

Enemies are very stupid. Clunky ai made this game extremely easy to beat even on the hardest difficulty. Even robots turned from intimidating to a walking battery cases once I understood how to deal with them.
The game offers you variety of throwables, which I didn't really find useful, unfortunately. Same with consumables. I did not really use them. It's just annoying that you either have to put them in your quick access wheel, or open inventory to use them every time.
Probably the most annoying part of the game is the fact that it doesn't have any kind of quick teleportation, or transportation. You have to walk all the time. From point A to B to C and it takes a lot of time, most of it, really.

Overall it's a good game. It's not gonna the kind of game that makes you feel kind of sad that it's ended, that you have grown with the game and so on. It's fun and that's it. Not bad.

Seems to be a fantastic concept so far in my playthrough. It isn't Fallout in Britian, although that is more than a fair comparison. It is unique with the 'leads' and the exploration offers a lot of detail.

Unfortunately, this has the EXACT same issue S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 had at launch. Controller input... it is clunky and doesn't feel good to play, I'm getting a headache every time I move the camera.

I recommend - my day one experience has been strong so far. This is another review I'll update due to the amount of games this year. Hopefully the controller input gets addressed ASAP so the game feels smoother.

Update - unfortunately for now. I will return to ATOMFALL at a later date after some updates. The clunky controls are causing motion sickness, which ruins the experience. No matter the settings I try to fine tune or change.

I really enjoyed playing this. The game has multiple endings and different ways to beat the game. Making decisions can effect the outcome of the game. Only problem with the game is it was pretty short, but that's not always a bad thing.

This was an underrated surprise for me. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Sniper Elite games so my expectations were pretty low for this, but I had a good time.

Pros:
- I found the exploration to be really engaging and rewarding. The lead system does a great job of getting you to just use your head and have a poke around. I very much enjoyed not having map markers on quests as I felt encouraged to experiment and see what I can find. I imagine some might not like that there's no fast travel but I found it made me learn the hard way which areas were safe and which were no man's land. This is definitely my favourite aspect of the game, just get stuck in, explore, and let the games small hints subtly guide you forward.

- The story and how it's presented is pretty interesting. Slowly peeling back the layers of Atomfall and the mysterious they have set up was a highlight for me.

- The barter system for trading items is a very simple idea but I really enjoyed the process of it. Weighing up my options and trying to gauge what items I needed least really added to the immersion. The fact certain items are favoured by certain traders is a nice touch too.

Cons:
- I wasn't a fan of how often enemies respawned. I had moments that completely pulled me out of the immersive experience the devs had so beautifully set me up in a few times. Clearing out a big base but taking my time and walking out the door only to find everyone has come back to life sucked.

- I get its a double A game but the AI is very poor. I found it was very easy to take advantage of braindead AI. You don't even have to try sometimes, the enemies will happily kill themselves for you.

- The ending. No spoilers but all endings are just meh in my opinion.

Lots of potential ruined by repetitive gameplay. While the location and setting are brilliant, the combat and gunfights are missing some "oomph"/grittiness. I really enjoyed the British touch and sense of exploration, but it fell flat after a few hours. Points for the semi-open world maps though, we need more of those these days (sick of all the empty open worlds that seem to be the norm nowadays). Maybe I'll give it another shot in a few months, but definitely got bored too quickly to continue to the end.

Pues bien. Este motor es peor. ¿Quieres romper una caja? NO PUEDES. Está hecha de ir titanio. ¿Quieres saltar un murito? NO PUEDES. Quiero nadar: NO PUEDES.
Pues aquí, NO. ES UN JODIDO PNG inalcanzable. Nunca puedes llegar.
