THE UNFINISHED MASTAPEECE

Singularity is the single greatest unfinished videogame ever created in Gaming industry.
Raven software developed a unique IP which is a masterpiece in my opinion.
It has physics elements from HALF-LIFE
and gunplay elements from WOLFENSTEIN
It has atmosphere like METRO and bit of horror like BIOSHOCK which is immersive.

I had no idea what this game was about,the opening sequence alone is the best horrifying experience to a point when I realised this is a really well made game.
The more I played,the more I was intrigued by the story and gameplay.
The only game you could play with no access to subtitles is itself a masterpiece.
In order to understand the story,you need to hear the audio recordings scattered around and I m always up for listening to Russian accent.
Raven software really made a wonderful concept of E99 and it's lore.
The TMD mechanics combined with gunplay is what I was hungry for and it delivered.
With so much rich concepts and building standalone games,RAVEN could have been the next VALVE.
Too bad the company was acquired and now they are making COD maps.
More people need to play this underrated gem.

From what I remember it was a good fps, but nothing really stood out for me.

Solid cross of half life, bioshock, and timesplittets. Never fully commits to the horror asthetics and vibe it establishes early on. It's surprisingly easy too.

Reminds me of Fallout in the art style, and yet it is much more nicer with its colours and the time travel mechanic worked well. Whilst some parts of the story made no sense whatsoever, you only really needed to know like 5 characters and the ending wrapped things up pretty well in my opinion.

The inly MAIN issue is that you can only have 2 weapons at you at all times, which realistically makes sense. Then there’s also these stations where you can equip/change different weapons before you enter the next area. HOWEVER, you never have any clue if you’re going into close-range or big arena and I never knew what weapons to equip (I recommend having only a shotgun and a sniper).
I wish that they’d AT LEAST tell you what kind of area you’d be going into next, and not just blindly going in.

Another minor problem I ran into was the upgrades. There’s only 1 upgrade you can equip, and they’re all mostly crap. Might as well given us 2 slots at least, or let us buy a slot! I know what they were going for, but it’s not that well executed here.

I think the ending really makes up for this, which is why I’m giving this a 9. I really liked the exploring, which didn’t feel like I was actively wasting my time, and actually enjoying the game!
