A 8.5/10 game for me.
A massive classic JRPG with all the hallmarks of the genre. It has a strong political side, with a central focus on a utopia that mirrors our own democratic society. Personally, I experienced a range of emotions while playing — moments of excitement, but also times of boredom. The gameplay becomes quite repetitive after the 50-hour mark, and by then I just wanted to reach the end, tired of the many dungeons whose only purpose was to level up your characters in the end.

On the other hand, the art direction, music, and combat are spectacular — that's what raised my rating and kept me hooked until the end. It’s a beautiful game with sophisticate details, I loved !
All in all, it's a looong game, meant for those who truly enjoy the JRPG genre, with good plot twists throughout the story.

The final battle is super challenging,I found it a bit over the top, with an extremely difficult final boss, which isn’t exactly what we wanted after 90 hours. But the twists and revelations are surprising.

A hundred hour.

First of all, the art of the game was the best Atlus has ever done. For the story, it started too abstract, but at the of it, it found the necessary structure to be a great story. It was certainly entertaining and gave me lots to think of it. The philosophical aspects made me think in a very complicated way, but it didn't give the fruit the audience and the game itself deserved. As I was saying, it was entertaining. From beginning right till the end BUT... Those twists saved the story. It was NOT as great as other Atlus stories... Some arcs should have lasted longer, and some should have ended sooner, also even though the twists were the saving grace, they were all predictable... But the idea was ambitious enough to make you think about it... A lot. I respect that. They tried something new and in my opinion, they succeeded.

The gameplay was like any other Atlus game with a hint of "bad" type of hacknslash BUT many of the fodder and useless fights can be fought with ease with this new hacknslash system, but in total it's still the same turned based game. BUT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY MUST SOMEONE GRIND SO F'KING MUCH FOR THE SAKE OF THE GAME NOT BEING BALANCED AT THE END? It seriously made me rethink that should I actually play these type of games on Hard difficulty or not. I really hoped for the game to end at some points and this is NOT a good thing! I played every side quest and bounty jobs and still was way too under leveled at many missions. This was not acceptable for me. And also the most important side quest and many other important moments NOT having voice over was a certain bummer.

But to get back to the good points, It had rpg elements like tree of talent which felt innovative and was entertaining until the very end of the game.

The cast was also not the best Atlus game cast of alltime but I liked them. They had their moments.

And the soundtrack was also different than most their works. Definitely not better, but actually different enough that it is indeed hard to compare.

All in all, a GREAT Atlus game. But not even close to their best works.

It definitely looks like atlus is just laying down comfortably with their golden egg formula of jrpgs and raking in the money,
Or maybe its the opposite and theyre stuck on that formula and too scared to change.either way that ship has sailed and it definitely shows, with most stuff in this game being a husk of their former entries.the characters quests were never shallower, the dialogue an unending blabber of nothingness, the annoying ps2 fetch quests and the same time management mechanic they’re been using for around 2 decades now.this was all either unchanged or a big decline from their other games and that is a huge disappointment, not only because its from the director of my favorite game series, but also because when i heard he was working on a new ip for 8 years the expectations were of something new,and this was anything but that.
Its sort of conflicting writing all this bc after a while the game did pick up the pace and started evolving quite nicely, the story though the regular Atlus morality blabber had a great 2nd half and maybe one of the best villains in a game or any media even though he too was mishandled, having ideals so stunning, but approached in once a gain such a childish way!
Anyways ,the combat also took a turn for the best at the 2nd half with some of the best, and memorable bosses i ever fought in turn based and overall.
But that was around the 55hour mark, and its just not right to dismiss all that time because of a good last boss and a tear jerker ending.

I can't believe the people who made persona 5 made this.

It's every cliche JRPG ever made. Side quests are pointless, and all fetch quests.

The side characters are as follows, cliche white knight, cliche veteran knight, cliche nobleman, cliche retired knight who is also cliche furry, etc etc

The plot is so predictable while also dumbfounding.

Gameplay aight tho
