Summary

Detroit: Become Human puts the destiny of both mankind and androids in your hands, taking you to a near future where machines have become more intelligent than humans. Every choice you make affects the outcome of the game, with one of the most intricately branching narratives ever created.

what can I say? choice based games are like drugs to me.

This game is awesome, my first try on decision-based games and I was left speechless, not just when I was playing game, but when i find out there are 40 different endings od this game. Imagine how much time did it take to make this!? it's sick! Graphich is fantastic as well as all those visual effects! I mean, you have to try this game. Also that first mission, oh my lord, if this isn't the best start of any game, then I would like to get recommendation for a game that has a better first mission. You have to try, it is not long, and most importantly, it's definitely worth your time.

Great story, great characters, great graphics, everything is awesome! The music in this game is perfect. I like the game because you don't focus only on 1 ending and your gameplay always changes because of the choices you make. That's a reson to play it more times for new endings. In my opinion I think it's a really good game and if you like story games u should really try it!

Detroit: Become Human is probably the best movie - video game I have ever played to date, consisting off well written narrative, rich character variety and choice system that actually have significant impact in the events unfolding.

Visually the game is mostly good, characters are great to look at, detailed models and good motion capture and facial scanning does make it look like you are watching a movie, although 30fps and no current gen support does make more open areas and action centric scenes look muddy at times, especially on PS4.

Gameplay wise it's a movie - game focused on choices and consiquences, but got to say Detroit doesn't just roll like a tv show, it has a significant amount of gameplay outside of choice making moments, alot of instances you are let loose to explore an enviroment that includes items that upon interaction provide some additional lore or unlock an extra choice during an upcoming scene. Besides that there are quick time events, some of which I did highly enjoy, they mostly shine during Connor episodes.

Narrative of Detroit is it's bread and butter, you a given control of three different character - all androids that possess free will. You are not given a choice which character you want to play as, but constantly switch between their personal stories that at times converge, but it's rather, instead the overarching events in the city of Detroit is what connects all three protagonists. All three character do have different stories unfolding, Kara is trying to leave the city with a child she rescued, Marcus is trying to survive and ends up starting an android revolution, and Connor is a detective trying to solve the devient phenomenon. All three stories to have some good variety, but the best and fan favorite one is clearly of Connor, he is an absolute highlight of the game. Overall it is a well written story I enjoy, but quality of the stories does vary, Marcus one being the weakest of the bunch, also pacing issues are present, some episodes I would personally skip than replay again. Some of the social commentary is rather on the nose at times aswell.

To sum up, Detroit: Become Human is probably the best game you can pick from this genre of video games, it's rather slow at times and lack of active gameplay systems can discourage some from playing it, but the choice system and compelling characters, especially Connor, are worth experiencing.
