Honestly greatly disappointed. How painful is it to progress. How unclear is the message. How anticlimax was the ending. How frustrating is it to just get the runs you want. I was told the ending would make much more sense, it doesn't. I started reading articles online to try to understand, and from what I understand, the message is great and I just agree with it. BUT WHERE, HOW CLEAR IS THE MESSAGE? AM I STUPID? I have rarely been so frustrated and disappointed. I have been hyped so much, after enjoying Lorelei, Golden Idol games, Obra Dinn. But Holy cow is this one just... Unefficient ? I'm so sad honestly.

It's unique experience to say the least and it's worth checking out

A deceptively-simple roguelike puzzle game that hooks you in with its unique mechanics, alluring atmosphere and secret stories.

Blue Prince is the first game I ever used a journal to take notes with, because almost every aspect of Mt. Holly Estate has a hidden meaning. Every room has something to tell you; whether it's the story & secrets of a broken family, or a clue leading you to an even greater mystery.
The rush you get from connecting the dots and solving another mystery is simply addicting.

My main negative is that while all roguelikes have aspects of RNG, there are some puzzles in Blue Prince that require several layers of RNG to align before they can attempt to be solved. This leads to some unsatisfying ends in your run because you didn't draft certain rooms in the 'right' order, despite the drafts being almost entirely based on chance.

Overall I highly recommend. It's the perfect game to download off Game Pass or PS+ Extra.

The critics have found their indie darling of 2025. It's not all that. I enjoy a narrative and mystery game but this doesn't half meander along and doesn't really provide much in return.

Nothing more frustrating then having a couple puzzles solved out but multiple runs not lining up to be able to complete the puzzle and if I have to do one more math puzzle I am going to lose my mind
